Upward was grown from humble beginnings in the Maine woods.  Upward’s origins date back to 1997 when founder Joe Christopher started Three Rivers Whitewater in The Forks, ME. Since its inception, “The Home of Serious Fun” expanded to Millinocket in 2000, to the Inn by the River in 2007, and to the Sugarloaf Inn in 2018.

In 2019, Upward took on their first venture in Portland with the re-opening of the historic $3 Deweys. With a focus on upgrading the food menu and offering the friendliest guest service in town, the re-opening of “Portland’s Original Ale House” has been met with great acclaim.

Upward has continued to expand by helping businesses reach their highest potential in a variety of industries: grocery & convenience, food & beverage distribution, commercial & residential construction, food manufacturing, commercial & personal laundry, excavation, and more.
